I Do Bridal Magazine – September 2014 (No. 52)

Welcome

And suddenly you just know… it’s time to start something new and trust the magic of new beginnings

Meister Eckhart

We happen to be writing these words to you as raindrops race down the window, reminding us this is the end of yet another season. The spring 2015 bridal fashion shows are coming to an end with the latest stock making it to boutiques close to us.

The season offers a fresh take at necklines and interesting embellishments along with soft tulles and romantic lace. From time to time you might think that trends in bridal fashion change very slowly but we invite you to take a closer look at the difference in the details. Off-the-shoulder necklines are in vogue in a range of styles varying from Bohemian to Grecian and more classic silhouettes. And for the adventurous type, colours are also changing with shades of grey, blue and green pushing out blush, the 2014 bridal-colour-of-the-year. Similarly, while capes or high collars may not be for everyone, they surely give us something fresh to think about.

Art deco themes or inspiration from The Great Gatsby will accompany us into 2015. Delicate beading and sparkles come into everything from headpieces to accessories with the ’30s glam trend being a top choice for designers.

When it comes to accessories and jewellery, do give this due importance as details are what personalise your look.

While heirloom pieces maybe your choice, consider introducing your favourite colour if you’re going for a modern look. As for footwear, whether decorated with little dainty rhinestones or crystals, bows or lace, bridal shoes will be mostly white, but blue is often a favourite choice or perhaps you can match them to the chosen colour scheme for your wedding theme. Whatever your style is, be yourself and trust the magic of new beginnings.
