I Do Bridal Magazine – May 2017 (No. 65)

The best things in life happen unexpectedly

Welcome

The spring 2018 bridal shows have taken place and with them came several surprises for the wedding fashionistas. Asymmetric gowns will be big and so will accents of black. Vera Wang’s show was all about large black flowers, while Marchesa and Carolina Herrera gowns had black ribbons tied around the waists.

Fashion shows are always about out of the box ideas and Naeem Khan, Houghton, and Reem Acra showed their takes to the bridal fashion industry with colourful, printed and embroidered gowns that will leave an impression wherever they’re seen.

Veils will also be big next season with cut out appliques, embroidery and length making a statement when paired with the most sophisticated of dresses or the simplest of gowns.

Jewellery, including strings of pearls, gems and stones incorporated in dresses, will also be big as seen in designs by Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier and Lela Rose.

If you’re planning to embrace your femininity, you can’t go wrong with touches of blush rose “an in vogue and timeless shade. Metallic accessories will continue to give weddings a modern twist as will surprising settings” a wedding in a field or a venue with a fascinating view will be the talk of town for months.
