I Do Bridal Magazine – March 2014 (No. 49)

Men always want to be a woman’s first love – women like to be a man’s last romance

Oscar Wilde

The warmer spring weather makes everyone smile as we find the longer days, brighter skies and new vegetation energising.

I DO continue to be Malta´s leading bridal magazine in 2014 and to present fresher and bolder ideas it has teamed up with award-winning fashion photographer Bernard Polidano and renowned make-up artist Natasha Polidano, together with a team of bridal consultants and stylists, to share with you dozens of new trends. I DO will be revealing the hottest looks in dresses, hair and make-up, and our favourite finds.

This season is all about thoughtful, emotional and artistic equilibrium, according to the Pantone Color Institute. It is about the balance between soft pastel colours and bright energetic shades, mixed with neutrals that bridge the two areas. Placid Blue is used as a neutral, reassuring peaceful calmness while Violet Tulip is a vintage purple that evokes wistful nostalgia. Hemlock is a summery, ornamental green that provides a decorative touch.

If you are after sophistication, the grey tone Paloma can be worn alone or paired with any other colour. Sand is another neutral which conjures images of the beach and carefree days.

Cayenne – a dash of spicy heat, the blazing Freesia Yellow and the tropical Celosia Orange give the necessary dose of summer energy. Radiant Orchid and Dazzling Blue, both bold counterparts of the placid blue and violet tulip, are vibrant colours that pair well across the palette and add confidence and vivacity when mixed with other bold colours.

The colour palette is inspired by a mixture of blooming flowers, travels abroad and strong, confident women, leading designers to use colour to refresh, revive and defy conventional wisdom. Introduce these colours in bridal party dresses, or as accents in flowers and accessories for the ultimate look.
