I Do Bridal Magazine – July 2019 (No. 76)

As if to make up for its late start, summer seems to be extra hot already, so we were lucky to be able to shoot our bridal fashion pages in Popeye Village. Its quirky buildings, with plenty of shade and magnificent coastal views, made it an ideal location.

And here we would like to congratulate our photographer, Bernard Polidano, on receiving a Lifetime Contribution award from the 2019 Malta Fashion Awards, and also our makeup artist Natasha Polidano on being chosen to show designs from her work as an MCAST student during the event.

Our young model Jaelle Micallef, one of the top 10 of last year’s Miss Universe Malta finalists, made a beautiful summer bride and stayed perfectly happy and cool throughout.

Summer really is a magical time for a wedding so congratulations to all engaged and newly-wed couples, and to those whose stories appear in this issue; each one illustrate how important it is to make such a special event truly your own.

One subject no couple can afford to ignore is the matter of money so we have some hints on identifying and sharing the way you each feel about spending habits, and some of the new demands marriage might make on your finances.

As we also know how important your wedding location will be we’ve been thinking of some of the things you will want to ask at each venue, before you make your final decision, to ensure you know exactly what you are getting, and that you and your guests will love it.

If you’re looking to shake things up a little on your big day, the growing trend for a bride to make a speech at her wedding may interest you. We think it’s a lovely idea so take a look on page 11 for some inspiration, and a couple of cocktail recipes to enjoy at the time.

With summer and the sea still in mind, we take a fresh look at accessories and those most striking water-born jewels pearls. They have made the most beautiful and romantic pieces for centuries, and are one of this year’s most popular choices for bridal jewellery.

Enjoy July’s issue, and we’re sure you will find plenty to inspire you as you plan your own perfect way to say I Do!

See you in September,
