The beach is not a place to work; to read, write or to think

It is the perfect Summer Escape. At a time when we’re breathing summer in the air, the sense of freedom from everyday life is as appealing as ever. Be it at a favourite spot by the sea, a chic hideaway or a lodge on a remote island, summer presents the opportunity to get away and be seduced by waves gently caressing your feet or the sound of water gently rolling in.

This was the idea that sparked Bernard and Natasha Polidano’s creativity for this issue’s shoot.

Popeye Village in the soft late afternoon sunshine served as the right location and details were coordinated for everything to fall perfectly into place. Having scouted model Claire straight off the catwalk, she was the ideal candidate to confidently carry the chosen gowns in sexy light fabrics and low back.

The decor is shabby chic reverberating the softness throughout the ambience while still achieving that sophisticated feel without breaking the bank. Take your time to recreate the shabby chic style for your wedding. Look in your grandmother’s closets for some old mismatched china, rummage through your box room for some old romantic fabrics or head to car boot sales and flea markets to find that pretty shabby item waiting to be adopted by a new owner.

As for colours, think off-whites, creams and magnolias coupled with pastels and pretty florals. Flick through the pages for the hottest wedding-related inspiration.
