Believe it or not, summer’s drawing to a close, and what is usually the busiest wedding season was this year extremely quiet. But we refused to take what could have been a lovely, long summer break because, as we imagined, excited couples were still finding ways to overcome whatever obstacles stood between them and their weddings. And suppliers were certainly rallying around to ensure they found whatever they would need.
This means this issue includes wedding stories from couples who celebrate their first anniversaries this year and couples who proved that love conquers all by holding their wedding this summer, no matter what. As a symbol of optimism and ingenuity, this couldn’t get much better and we congratulate those on their first happy year and those whose courage and imagination allowed them to follow their dreams.
In future, there will be adjustments to be made. But we see this as an opportunity to make the very most of how you celebrate such an important event; a reason to really push the boat out and make every detail count.
If you’re reluctant to downsize, there’s always the possibility of having a one-year-on party, where you can remember your day with a grand gathering of all the friends you wanted to have with you. Nothing keeps the romance alive like celebrating a wedding anniversary as if it was the original day. Meanwhile, we will be happy to make space in future issues to include your stories about how circumstances upset your plans and what you did to make your wedding the best it could be.
In these changing times, it takes a leap of faith to go for it and to find the most marvellous ways to say I DO.
